How can i love God as if i see him?

I pray for god and i do everything God commanded. But at the beginning my heart seems so zealous and devout but as the days go by, this beautiful feeling of nearness vanishes and normal life takes over. IS it normal? I'm 18 and i feel so bad for not being able to love God as someone i see. I feel so bad. Please help me.
