How to install laminate wood flooring on a concrete slab?

The key is to have the floor be completely smooth and level. This may require scraping with a floor scr to remove chunks of concrete. Or you might have to put down a leveling compound (kind of a plasticized concrete mix) to make the floor dead flat. Another good idea is some kind of underlayment. A good one is a foam sheet that's about 1/16 of an inch thick. It can easily be cut to size and you can use packing tape to attach pieces together. Then you just interlock the slats and pound them in a piece at a time. When you're done, put about a 3/4-inch quarter-round molding around all of the edges to hide the gaps on the edges.
